Suddenly there was a traffic jam: In Hamburg, climate activists from Extinction Rebellion blocked the Kennedy Bridge in the city center in the morning.
Update from December 21, 10:37 a.m .:
It was quick: just under 20 minutes after the start of the campaign, the Hamburg police cleared the blockade.
A woman was just about to stick herself - she already had the superglue in her hand - but the officers reacted quickly.
Now the activists are standing next to the road with signs – and traffic is flowing again, reports 24hamburg.de.
With the action on the Kennedy Bridge, Extinction Rebellion is showing its solidarity with the activists of the “last generation”: “We are clinging to life and wish for a fossil and nuclear-free future from Christmas 2023.
That's why we're wearing Santa hats today, because we still believe in a viable future."

The group Extinction Rebellion repeatedly causes sensational actions in Hamburg - and annoyed drivers.
Last year, for example, the climate activists created a traffic jam at the Neuer Pferdemarkt after they had blocked Stresemannstrasse.
