Daraa City Council lit the entrance to the industrial zone with alternative energy and began installing 19 lighting devices inside and around Souq al-Hal.

The head of the city council, Eng. Amin Al-Omari, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that street lighting with solar energy saves the quantities of electricity consumed while facilitating the movement of citizens.

For its part, the branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Daraa, in cooperation with the city council and the local community, lit 13 intersections with solar energy within Tariq Al-Sad neighborhood in the city.

The head of the Red Crescent branch, Dr. Ahmed Al-Masalmeh, said in a similar statement that the lighting process was carried out with the support of one of the international organizations operating in Syria within the framework of providing services that facilitate the movement of citizens during the evening hours.

Daraa City Council, in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and international organizations operating in Daraa governorate for months, has been carrying out lighting operations for streets and squares with alternative energy.
