The municipality of Greiling has upgraded for the "blackout" that mayor Anton Margreiter hopes will never occur.

In the annual meeting of the municipal council, which took place exceptionally in the training room of the new fire brigade equipment house, he presented together with fire brigade commander Bertl Kinshofer jun.

the new emergency power generator from Kohler, which could be used in the event of a long-lasting power failure.

The new fire station will then serve as a contact point for the citizens.

The power required for use as a so-called "lighthouse" was calculated in advance.

The emergency power generator, which is set up outside the fire station if necessary, has an output of 38 kilovolt amperes (kVA) and is operated with diesel fuel B0 without a biogenic component.

Fire brigade as a point of contact

Although it is more expensive, it provides more power, is more economical in consumption and can also be used in winter without any problems at minus 28 degrees Celsius.

The device, which can supply the entire fire station with electricity, cost around 18,000 euros gross.

This is an important factor because not only can heat and hot water be provided for needy citizens, but communication with the radio devices is also ensured, explained Mayor Margreiter.

To supply the device, several tanks, each with a capacity of 1000 liters, were deposited in the area of ​​the Reichersbeuern-Greiling municipal works in order to be prepared in an emergency.
