Homs Culture Directorate celebrates Arabic Language Day

Homs, SANA - In celebration of the Arabic Language Day, the Homs Culture Directorate organized in cooperation with the Child Culture Directorate and a number of his mother

In celebration of the Arabic Language Day, the Directorate of Homs Culture, in cooperation with the Directorate of Children's Culture, and a number of interested parties, organized theatrical and poetry activities, as well as exhibitions of painting and books.

The celebration included an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy produced by the Life Skills team and the “Namaa” project, and a drawing workshop for Arabic calligraphy supervised by the calligrapher Youshua Khader, with the participation of twenty children of different age groups.

The poet Burhan Shaleel participated in several interactive poems with the children, valuing the essence of the Arabic language in order to preserve our intellectual and cultural heritage and traditions.

The young storyteller Yazan Muhammad presented a theatrical scene, and the “Nirvana” troupe and teacher Heba Masdi presented a scene of puppets, all of which emphasize the originality of the Arabic language and the importance of adhering to it and its eloquence.

The Zenobia Library participated in the celebration with an exhibition of children's books that included stories, magazines and educational games aimed at empowering and preserving the Arabic language.

Regarding the celebration, Saba Wassouf, head of the Life Skills Team at the Child Culture Directorate, explained in an interview with SANA that the activities in which students from Al-Walidiya School and children with disabilities participated aim to shed light on our beautiful language and develop love for it in the hearts of children in order to preserve its authenticity.
