The leak in a pipeline in Brunsbüttel, from which a large quantity of crude oil flowed into the Kiel Canal, has been sealed.
There is no more oil flowing, said a spokesman for the emergency command on Wednesday.
The leak is in the oil port at a so-called culvert on the land side.
The canal was closed to shipping in the morning.
Brunsbüttel - The emergency command, which has taken over the management of the operation at the request of the State Office for Coastal Protection, National Park and Marine Protection Schleswig-Holstein (LKN), according to its own statements, is pulling together other emergency services.
The multi-purpose ship "Neuwerk" and the oil spill response ship "Knechtsand" were ordered to the scene of the incident.
There was initially no information on the amount of oil that had leaked.
Minor dirt was already noticed on Friday.
