The weather has picked up slightly in recent days, but Hong Kong will enter severe cold again as New Year's Eve approaches.
The Observatory announced today (21st) that due to the dry northeast monsoon, the temperature difference between day and night in Hong Kong is relatively large. The monsoon replenishment in the latter part of next week will make the weather turn cold. Next Friday (20th) the temperature will drop by 12 to 16 degrees. Chances of triggering a cold weather warning.

The Observatory stated that the dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to Guangdong. At noon, the relative humidity in most parts of Hong Kong dropped below 40%. Fresh northerly winds, with occasional strong winds offshore at first.

In the early morning of next Friday, some areas will drop below 10 degrees
The Observatory forecasts that the weather will be fine and dry from the latter part of this week to Christmas, with quite cool mornings and evenings, and the temperature difference between day and night in the New Territories will be large.
Affected by the replenishment of the monsoon, the weather in Guangdong will turn cold in the latter part of next week. The temperature will range from 13 to 17 degrees next Thursday (29th), and it will turn colder sharply the next day (30th), with a minimum of 12 degrees and a maximum of 16 degrees.
The Observatory predicts that on the morning of December 30, some areas will drop below 10 degrees.

According to the regional weather forecast of the Observatory, some areas will drop below 10 degrees next Friday morning, Ta Kwu Ling will only be 8 degrees, Sheung Shui and Shek Kong will be 9 degrees, and other areas will hover at 10 to 12 degrees.
