Schweinfurt – The accident happened late Tuesday evening on the Hahnen Hügel Bridge in Schweinfurt.
The six-lane B286 crosses the bridge.
The police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
Not much is known at the moment.

The pedestrian apparently crashed into the windshield of that car and was then thrown further onto the next lane of the multi-lane road.

It is clear that a 68-year-old from the neighboring district of Haßberge was driving his VW on the Hahnen Hügel Bridge in the direction of Schwebheim, reportedly in the right lane.
The terrible accident happened about 200 meters after the bridge.
The driver hit a 29-year-old pedestrian head-on.
The man hit the windshield and was thrown deeper into the street.
There he was run over by one, maybe several cars.
The emergency doctor could do nothing more for the 29-year-old.
He succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.

"Right now, just before Christmas, the family celebration, this affects us emergency services even more than usual," says police chief Stefan Eckert at the scene of the accident.
"It's bad when someone's life is taken so unexpectedly."
One of the drivers was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The B286 was completely blocked in the direction of Schwebheim for a long time.
In addition to the fire brigade, the road maintenance department was also on hand to provide support.
