Pelé's state of health has worsened, and now he requires "greater care related to the kidney and heart dysfunctions" that he presents, the hospital where the Brazilian soccer star is hospitalized reported Wednesday.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento, “O Rei”, has been hospitalized since November 29 at the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital to receive treatment for a respiratory infection and for a re-evaluation of the chemotherapy treatment that is being followed for a color tumor.
The hospital reported that Pelé "presents progression of the oncological disease and requires greater care related to renal and cardiac dysfunctions."
"The patient is still hospitalized in a common room, under the necessary care of the medical team," said the professionals at the medical center.
