At the last municipal council meeting in 2022, the municipality of Poing explained how it was preparing for a blackout.

So that emergency supplies are secured in the event of a disaster.

Poing – Should there be a blackout due to the global political situation, the energy crisis or another emergency, the municipality of Poing is prepared.

At the December meeting of the municipal council, Head of the Public Order Office Jürgen Rappold and Mayor Thomas Stark presented the measures that the administration has already taken and what is planned in an emergency.

The community is preparing in close coordination with the district office, responsible authorities and local partners, “in order to be well prepared in the event of such a crisis,” the announcement said.

Poing: contact points in detailed planning

City hall, depot, fire brigade and police have been supplied with emergency power for a long time, and a tank farm for emergency vehicles has been set up.

"So-called lighthouses (contact points) are in the detailed planning, corresponding discussions between the fire brigade, BRK, police and community have been held." In the event of a longer power failure, the supply of drinking water is guaranteed for more than 72 hours.

The same applies to the waste water disposal by the supply and disposal company VE Munich East (VEMO).

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

In this context, according to Rappold and Stark, the municipal company VEMO reports that the area Schwabener Straße 12 to 19 is an exception when it comes to waste water disposal.

There, the local residents independently pump dirty water into the sewer using a private pumping station.

"If residents there do not have their own emergency power supply, they cannot pass the dirty water into the public sewer." Even VEMO cannot help here.

Poing: Municipality sees itself on the right track

At the end of the message, which was read out in the December meeting of the municipal council, it says: "Even if the municipality of Poing is already on the right track with its critical infrastructure, it cannot replace private or company pension schemes." That's why The administration asks all citizens and local companies and institutions to find out more about the blackout and to observe the relevant information.
