According to various weather models in Germany, December 2022 should actually be warm.
This scenario occurs just before Christmas of all days.

In view of the wonderful winter days, many people in this country dream of a white Christmas.
For those romantically inclined, however, the current weather forecasts mean a punch in the stomach: The weather in Germany is about to change massively.
While the middle of the month was still marked by the danger of ice, the temperatures are currently rising rapidly and the white splendor is melting away relatively quickly.
Unfortunately, that doesn't bode well for anyone looking forward to a white Christmas.
According to weather experts, this scenario is “not an issue at all” this year.

Various weather models clearly show: the winter potential is great.
Do we even have a white Christmas?
It cannot be dismissed out of the proverbial hand: It is getting colder and more permafrost is expected.
So there could be cold days in Germany.
However, the chances of a longer period of mild weather are said to be negligible.
As the German Weather Service (DWD), among others, explained at the beginning of December, a Siberian cold peak should move closer to Europe.

All previous long-term forecasts regarding the weather in December are thus thrown overboard.
We are talking about the cold peak "Erik", which would send a lot of cold to Europe again and again.

The European weather model has even calculated a snowstorm for Friday, December 9th.
According to this, a low from the north-west would pull over Germany and bring with it massive cold air and a lot of snow.

Snow has fallen at least once in parts of Lower Saxony on the second weekend in Advent.
Wintry weather is to be expected, especially in the Harz region, said a meteorologist from the German Weather Service DWD, according to the German Press Agency (dpa).
In Braunlage, snowmen can already be built with seven centimeters of snow.
There is also about three centimeters of snow in southern Lower Saxony and one centimeter in Göttingen.
A few snowflakes may still fall on Saturday evening, December 3, 2022, but no major amounts.
On the night of December 4th, when the shooting stars of the Geminids appear in the sky,
it cools down to minus two and in the Upper Harz to minus five degrees.
Also on Sunday, December 4, 2022, the temperatures will rise to a maximum of two degrees.
