The National Police is looking for the youngest, 11 years old, after an operator found the body of the oldest, 17, on the garbage distribution tape

It was a garbage service operator who alerted after detecting the boy's body on the garbage distribution tape a week ago, after a collection at a Toledo landfill.

After identifying the remains, the National Police have come to the conclusion that it is Fernando Fernández García, a minor under 17 years of age, whose disappearance had been reported on December 10 by his relatives, of Roma ethnicity and residents of Madrid. Carabanchel neighborhood, as confirmed by sources of the investigation.

Along with him, his 11-year-old cousin, Ángel Fernández Silva, who lived with his family in Vallecas and whose whereabouts remain unknown, disappeared.

Investigators continue to search for him now.

The first police hypotheses suggest that it could be a "revenge between families", for an alleged "mischief of skirts", according to sources close to the investigation.

People in the deceased's environment deny that possibility in principle, although they assure that "the reasons for what has happened will be known in a very short time", without ruling out feuds between families.

"The family is devastated, they do not understand what could have happened to them," they insist.

At the same time that they try to clarify what happened, the investigators of the Homicide group of the Madrid Headquarters are vigorously searching for the minor who remains missing.

The two cousins, who "used to go together", had lost track on December 10 when they were leaving the Hiper Usera, on General Ricardos street in the capital, in the Carabanchel neighborhood.

As confirmed by the National Platform of the Gypsy People, "they went there with their parents, to go to the laundry and, once there, they told them that they were hungry and that they were going to go eat a sandwich at the mall," they explain.

According to what was collected by the security cameras, "they are seen entering through the main door of the shopping center, but then they leave through the back door and go to the nearest metro station, 400 meters away, to get off two stops later. , in Marqués de Vadillo, where they lose track”.

Hence, initially it was thought that they had disappeared voluntarily.

The SOS Disappeared Association launched a poster with the faces and names of both minors on December 14.
