Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

The Israeli occupation authorities announced that they would not hand over the body of the Palestinian martyr, Nasser Abu Hamid, to his family, in flagrant violation of human rights and international laws.

And Palestinian media reported that the Israeli Minister of War, Benny Gantz, announced, after a meeting with a number of occupation officials today, that the body of the captive Abu Hamid will not be handed over, bringing the number of bodies of the martyrs prisoners held by the occupation to 10.

The President of the Palestinian National Council, Ruhi Fattouh, said in a statement: “The criminal occupation did not only commit the crime of assassinating the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, through medical negligence, but it brazenly refuses to hand over his body to his family for farewell and burial, in flagrant violation of international laws and norms, which categorically indicates the incapacity of The international system, its weakness, and its disregard for the crimes of the occupation.

Yesterday, the Palestinian prisoner with cancer, Nasser Abu Hamid, was martyred after the occupation refused to release him, despite the serious deterioration of his health, and his entering a coma due to the policy of willful medical negligence by the occupation authorities after his cancer.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the international community, the United Nations and its competent bodies to exert real pressure on the occupation to release Abu Hamid's body so that his family could bury him in a manner befitting his sacrifices.

Dozens of Palestinians were injured yesterday as a result of the occupation’s attack on sit-ins and demonstrations that took place in the cities and towns of the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip, denouncing the occupation’s crime against Abu Hamid, and to demand the recovery of his body and the rest of the bodies that the occupation is holding.

The occupation is holding the bodies of more than 357 Palestinian martyrs, most of them from the West Bank, including 55 bodies of martyrs from the Gaza Strip and 10 bodies of martyrs who died in the occupation detention centers, the last of which was the body of the martyr Abu Hamid.
