The French chain is on the way: we checked some products that are already sold • The verdict: some of the brand's prices are more attractive compared to the competitors - but other items will cost you more

On our way: the French Carrefour chain is expected to arrive in Israel in the first half of 2023 through Electra Consumer Products.

As part of its arrival in Israel, Beitan and Mega wine branches in the city will be gradually converted to Carrefour.

Now, in the intermediate phase, several branches named "Super" have been launched, which are being prepared for the arrival of the French chain with several Carrefour brand products, which will later be converted into Carrefour branches.

The number of Sofer branches now stands at 13, including four branches in Tel Aviv, three branches in Herzliya and a branch in Kiryat Ono, Bar-Ilan, Givat Savion (Gani Tikva), Ra'anana, Or Yehuda and Ramat Hasharon.

Among these products, you can find a number of products at attractive prices, such as a six-pack of beer for NIS 17.9-14.9, 25 cups of tea or green tea for NIS 6.9, coffee capsules for NIS 6.9, and olive oil for NIS 11.9, which the chain received in quotas.

Since the chain offers products of the Carrefour brand, which is considered the private label of the chain, we compared the prices of the private brand to the private brands of Shufersel and Rami Levy.

Most of Sofer's branches are currently neighborhood only.

Not cheap in all products

We compared the prices of the Or Yehuda branch of Carrefour, which is considered a larger branch than the others, against the discount branches of Shufersal and Rami Levy.

introduced the low prices.

Rami Levi,

In general, it can be seen that the prices of the Carrefour brand are attractive, but for now it is a small number of products.

As for the rest of the ingredients, in some of the products we tested we found that some of them are more expensive than the competing brushes.

If we compare, for example, the price of three packages of Carrefour's private label milk chocolate at the Super branch in Or Yehuda - you can find three packages weighing 100 grams for NIS 7.9, compared to NIS 12.9 at Shufersal Deal.

A package of Carrefour private label capsules costs 7.9 shekels, compared to 14.9 shekels at Shufersal Deal.

Shufersal Deal offers a sale: 4 units for NIS 50, i.e. NIS 12.5 per unit.

The oil costs less

In response, Rami Levy offers a cheaper price, since a pack of capsules costs NIS 7.8, and 3 packs cost NIS 20, that is, 6.67 NIS per pack.

Breakfast cereal - Carrefour roasted corn flakes cost 6.9 shekels, but the package contains only 300 grams.

In contrast, Shufersal Deal's private brand cereal costs NIS 13.9 per 750 grams, that is, NIS 5.56 per 300 grams.

Rami Levy's breakfast cereals are sold for NIS 12.3 per 750 grams.

Carrefour olive oil costs 11.5 shekels, compared to 13.9 shekels at Rami Levy and 29.9 shekels at Shufersal Deal.

As for the regular brands: Esem's house cake is offered at the Super branch for NIS 14.9, compared to NIS 11.9 at Shufersal Deal and NIS 10.9 at Rami Levy's.
