District of Fürstenfeldbruck – Snow and ice are slowly melting away with the rising temperatures, but they caused all sorts of accidents in the past week.

In addition to property damage, there were also injuries.

The wintry road conditions were fatal to a 22-year-old car driver near Landsberied on Thursday, December 15.

He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The young man came off the road at around 5.45 p.m. due to inappropriate speed on the icy road between Landsberied and Schöngeising and crashed into a tree.

The driver called his mother, who took him to a hospital with serious injuries.

The Toyota suffered damage of 8,000 euros.


On the same day, when entering Siemensstraße, a 48-year-old driver from Germering skidded in her Citroen on a snow-covered road and drove onto the traffic island.

There she collided with a plant trough and a traffic light pole.

The front of the car was badly damaged and had to be towed away.

The traffic light failed due to the collision.

The property damage is around 10,000 euros.

The person who caused the accident was driving with summer tires and must therefore expect to be reported.


A lot also happened on December 16th

On Friday, December 16, there was a rear-end collision on the B 471 near Grafrath in the morning after a 62-year-old car driver from the district of Landsberg am Lech was unable to stop in time due to the snow-slick road and hit a car driving ahead started.

Here it was only a body damage in the amount of 3,000 euros.


Almost at the same time, around 9 a.m., a 25-year-old car driver lost control of her BMW at the entrance to Grafrath on Moorenweiser Strasse and slammed into a traffic sign.

The woman from Jesenwang was not injured, her vehicle suffered damage of 3,000 euros.


An 83-year-old woman from Moorenweis had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries after she slipped on the sidewalk in Ammerseestraße around 4:45 p.m. on Friday afternoon and broke her leg several times.

Accidents continued over the weekend

Inappropriate speed on the wintry roads was also the cause of the accident of the driver of a van, who left the road at around 0.30 a.m. at the roundabout in Mammendorf in the night from Friday, December 16th to Saturday, December 17th.

The 72-year-old was driving on the B 2 federal road from Fürstenfeldbruck and wanted to take the exit towards Oberschweinbach at the roundabout.

The driver from Baden-Württemberg drove over the traffic island and crashed into the crash barrier.

The driver was not injured, but one of his four occupants suffered minor injuries.

As a precaution, all people were medically examined in a hospital.

The Mercedes van was a total loss of 10,000 euros.


Another rear-end collision occurred on Saturday, December 17, around 10 a.m. between Adelshofen and Nassenhausen.

A bus hit a car in front after it skidded and had to brake.

The 53-year-old bus driver tried to avoid the skidding car, but was unable to stop in time.

The total damage amounts to 6,000 euros.

The passengers and the two drivers were not injured.

Slippery ground from thaw causes people to fall

A 72-year-old woman from Mittelstetten slipped on the icy ground on Tuesday, December 20 at around 1.50 p.m. in Muthilostrasse in Mittelstetten and sustained an arm fracture in the fall.

She was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

On the same day, an 82-year-old man was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

The pensioner was on his bike between Fürstenfeldbruck and Schöngeising around 12.30 p.m.

He rode his bike on the bike path next to the B 471. Due to the slippery surface, the 82-year-old from Schöngeising fell and was seriously injured.
