On Twitter, the price angers some.

Another person wrote: "Wow.
What more meaningful things could you have done with almost 25,000 euros?
So much money for a single Christmas tree?
Does it actually hack with you in Oberstdorf?
I can not believe it."

The municipal administration was initially unable to comment on the Christmas tree on Thursday.
From the Sauerland by heavy transport to the Allgäu
According to the
, the municipality commissioned a company to deliver the Christmas tree by heavy transport for 24,850 euros.
The tree was then transported through half of Germany.
In the past, the community-owned municipal companies would have brought a Christmas tree from the region and put it up on the market square themselves.
According to the administration, this is no longer possible for security reasons, the newspaper reported.
