The Minister of Education of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan came out today (Thursday) to defend the decision to completely exclude women from universities and colleges in the country, this after thunderous condemnation from the countries of the world, even Muslim and conservative countries.
In a public conversation held by Minister Nida Muhammad Nadim, he said that the ban he announced earlier this week was necessary in order to prevent gender mixing in schools in the country.
"Female students did not observe the hijab rules in the study sessions. They arrived as if they were dressed for a wedding. They insisted on studying male subjects such as engineering and agriculture, which is not acceptable in our culture," said the minister.
