The main profit is the exchange of experiences with other companies.

Josef Hammerschmid, Head of Administration at the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing The Academy for Political Education in Tutzing has been a member of the Ökoprofit Club for more than ten years.

Milestones in terms of sustainability were the © voltaic systems on the roofs and the recently completed energetic refurbishment of the guest house

Saving energy and emissions – and money at the same time in the long term: This is what the Ökoprofit municipal advisory program aims to do.

Nine companies from the district of Starnberg have now received awards for exemplary environmental and climate protection.

District – The companies 3M from Seefeld, Reichhart-Logistics from Gilching and PTC Telecom from Wörthsee, the Siemens Global Leadership Center and the training center of the German Society for International Cooperation in Feldafing, the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing, the hospitals in Starnberg and Seefeld, the Marianne Strauss Clinic in Kempfenhausen: They all belonged to the Starnberg Ökoprofit Club this year.

Together with five other companies from the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Weilheim-Schongau, they saved 394,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, 687,000 kilowatt hours of heating energy and more than 211,000 kilos of CO2 this year.

For these achievements, a total of 59 measures, they have been awarded these days.

At the closing event, Deputy District Administrator Matthias Vilsmayer said about the companies: "They have implemented many small and large measures that help to save energy or water, avoid waste, switch to sustainable products or relieve the burden on the environment in other ways.

They are therefore a role model for sustainable entrepreneurial action.”

The three districts initiated the Ökoprofit Club.

Saving energy and emissions – and also money in the long term: the name Ökoprofit says what the environmental advice and climate protection program developed in Graz in 1991 aims for.

The Munich agency Arqum organizes quarterly workshops for the companies and also individual consultations at the location, at the end there is an examination and finally the award.

In the club for ten years: the Academy for Civic Education in Tutzing

The members of the club change regularly, but the Academy for Civic Education in Tutzing has been involved for more than ten years.

“And it still pays off.

The main benefit is the exchange of experiences with other companies,” says administrative manager Josef Hammerschmid.

Participation in Ökoprofit costs a low four-digit amount each year.

Every year, the academy develops a catalog of measures; this year, for example, they converted the emergency and escape routes to LED lighting.

On the other hand, the photovoltaic systems on the roofs and the recently completed energetic refurbishment of the guest house are large investments that will pay off financially in the long term.

They are not directly related to Ökoprofit, but this has created a great sensitivity for sustainability in the Academy.

Staying up to date when it comes to climate protection: This is what drives Reichhart-Logistik to take part in Ökoprofit, says Julia Lacher.

"There are contact persons and a lot of information material." Lacher is responsible for brand management at the Gilching-based company.

As a result of participating in the program, Reichhard came up with the idea of publishing an annual "Corporate Social Responsibility Report" - and thus an insight into the use of resources.

The company has been active in matters of sustainability for years: at the logistics locations (not in Gilching) it has replaced oil heating with air curtains, two Reichhart trucks are already running on liquefied natural gas, but an environmental management system is also intended to promote resource-saving behavior in all other areas of the employees .
