Within the framework of the academic agreement between the Universities of Aleppo and Tokyo for Foreign Studies, the Japan Center for Academic Cooperation at the University of Aleppo, in cooperation with the Department of Arabic Studies at the University of Tokyo for Foreign Studies, organized an event entitled (The Reading Platform in Japanese).
Dr. Abd al-Ilah Nawolo, head of the Japan Center for Academic Cooperation at the University of Aleppo, explained that this event is a step in contrast to the Arabic reading competition that was held at the University of Tokyo.
Dr. Naolo praised the efforts made by the Syrian and Japanese sides, which resulted in the success of the scientific cooperation agreement with the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
For his part, Dr. Aoyama Hiroyuki, Academic Coordinator of Arab Studies at the University of Tokyo, stated that the platform's goal for the University of Tokyo is to activate cooperation between the two universities, and to contribute to deepening the cultural relationship between the Syrian and Japanese peoples.
In her turn, Dr. Lamis Harbly, Vice President of the University of Aleppo for Scientific Affairs, explained that today's event comes within the program of various scientific activities that are held at the University of Aleppo in cooperation with the University of Tokyo, Department of Arabic Language, and aims to encourage students from various scientific and literary specializations to learn the Japanese language, as the second competition is held today. To exchange reading, where a reading session was carried out on the tenth of this month for Japanese university students in Arabic.
For her part, Ilham Sharholi, a fourth-year student in English literature, stated that she was registered at the Japanese Center for Learning to Read, and studied the Japanese language according to six levels.
Anwar Shahrour, an English literature graduate, said: She is interested in the Japanese language and studied four levels in it. She participated in the competition today, expressing her willingness to continue studying the language and developing herself.
Suzan, the school's muezzin at the Japanese Center at the University of Aleppo, drew attention to continuing her teaching work at the center, and she benefited from a scholarship in Japan to strengthen her language and transfer her experiences to students.
