In Dreieich, self-proclaimed environmental activists call rescue workers to an alleged gas leak.

It's not the first false call of this kind.

Dreieich - A malicious false alarm triggered a large-scale operation in Dreieichenhain on Tuesday evening.

At around 10:40 p.m., the Nora emergency call app reported that gas had leaked in a house on Ederstrasse.

The message turned out to be false.

It appears that "environmental activists" have deceived the emergency services.

This assumption is reasonable, since several similar incidents occurred in Essen on Tuesday evening.

There, a group of self-proclaimed climate protectors confessed to improper use of the app, reports op-online.de.

The alleged operation had called fire brigades from Dreieich, Neu-Isenburg and Langen to the scene, as well as several ambulances and police patrols.

There were no signs of a gas leak in the house.

There was also no sign of anyone who was allegedly injured.

False alarm in Dreieich: Emergency services were also deceived in Essen

The press office of the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse confirmed investigations into suspected misuse of an emergency call facility.

"Whether it could be a protest action is also the subject of these investigations," said a spokesman.

In Essen, emergency services from the fire brigade and police were misled on several occasions, also via the Nora app, which is intended to enable people with speech and hearing impairments in particular to make emergency calls.

The alleged climate activists used the chat function to communicate with the control centers.

In the city in the Ruhr area, the emergency services moved out after gas leaks in residential buildings, injured people and burglaries with armed perpetrators were reported.

All fictitious, as it turned out.

Later, an unknown person sent a message to the control centers via the chat function with the following content: "You thought it was an emergency, but the real emergency - the impending climate catastrophe - which will kill millions of people is consistently ignored by our politicians.

We will continue this form of protest until our federal government enacts effective legislation to prevent climate catastrophe.”

Dreieich: Rescue workers are missing where they are needed

Comment by OP editor Frank Mahn: Playing with human lives

I'm not a hardliner, but I have no tolerance for such actions.

They are not only insane, they can also have fatal consequences.

Namely, when rescue workers are missing where they are needed, but are prevented from doing so by malicious deception.

In an emergency, it can cost lives!

Apart from the fact that you shouldn't carry out your climate madness on the backs of volunteers.

"In all cases, a large number of rescue workers were dispatched to the respective locations.

These were not available for possible other operational situations at this time," said the Essen police.

The state security has started the investigation there.

According to initial findings, a group of self-proclaimed environmental activists from southern Germany could be the perpetrators.
