Today, Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous discussed with the head of the Syrian-Iranian People's Friendship Association, Hassan Akhtari, and his accompanying delegation, ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various economic, commercial, cultural and societal fields, in a way that achieves the common interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.
The two sides stressed the depth of the Syrian-Iranian relations and the importance of opening broader horizons for them, in order to enable the economies of the two countries to face the current challenges and unilateral sanctions imposed on the peoples of the two countries, as well as the need to strengthen economic cooperation, especially in the fields of industry, oil derivatives, housing, construction and technology.
The Prime Minister welcomed Iranian companies wishing to invest in Syria and establish joint projects in a number of vital sectors, thus contributing to strengthening the national economy in light of the unjust siege to which the Syrian people are subjected.
For his part, Akhtari stressed the importance of working to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, reflecting the strategic relations that bind the two peoples and the two friendly countries.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Muhammad Khader, and the Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Dr. Fadi Al-Khalil.
