Starnberg - The animal welfare association in Starnberg and the surrounding area benefits from the "Donations instead of Christmas cards" campaign.

Florian Hellmich heads the real estate center of the Kreissparkasse in Ebersberg.

The financing of construction projects and the brokerage of real estate have been his profession for over 15 years.

But after work and at the weekend he has another passion: He is the chairman of the BRK water rescue service in Ebersberg, which, among other things, oversees the water rescue service at the family pool at the Klostersee in Ebersberg.

Every year, the members put in around 5,000 hours of voluntary work.

With a lot of heart and soul, Florian Hellmich has been a member of the water rescue service for almost 30 years and has been an active member of the board for over 25 years.

Up to 100,000 euros go to charitable organizations every year

The Kreissparkasse is supporting such volunteer work this year with its “Donations instead of Christmas cards” campaign.

Since 2012, it has donated up to 100,000 euros annually for charitable and non-profit purposes.

This year, Sparkasse employees were able to suggest clubs and charitable organizations in which they volunteer or which are particularly close to their hearts.

In total, these special "heart projects" were supported this year with 100,000 euros.

2,500 euros of this went to the Ebersberg water rescue service, which had been suggested by real estate center manager Florian Hellmich during the campaign.

Support at Christmas is a tradition at the Kreissparkasse

In recent years, the district savings bank's Christmas fundraiser has always had a specific motto.

In 2021, tables and boards in the business area were supported, previously also hospices or fire brigades, for example.

In 2022, around 60 institutions from very different sectors will now benefit.

The voluntary fire brigade in Neufarn-Parsdorf, the animal welfare association in Starnberg and the surrounding area, the citizens' initiative for pre-school care, the BRK-Rotkreuzhaus in Gilching, the dance sports club in Taufkirchen and many, many other projects that are close to the heart of the district savings bank employees were also happy to receive a donation this year.
