Russia's Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, has described Ukraine as an "enemy country" supported by the West, pointing to the military supplies that the West has provided to Kiev.
Russia Today website quoted Gerasimov as saying today during a briefing he gave to the military attaches of foreign countries: “The regime in Kyiv uses civilians as human shields, prevents civilians from leaving cities and tortures prisoners of war until it has organized assassination attempts on journalists and representatives of administrations in the regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the two regions.” Zaporizhia and Kherson is the base in Kyiv.”
Gerasimov added: “The United States, Britain, Poland and Romania make the largest contribution to supplying the regime in Kyiv with weapons, and since the beginning of the special military operation, the West has delivered to Kyiv 4 planes, more than 30 helicopters, more than 350 tanks and no less than 5,000 drones.”
During the special military operation, according to Gerasimov, more than 1,300 important facilities in Ukraine were targeted, which reduced the capabilities of the Ukrainian forces and paralyzed the Ukrainian defense industries, while the effective actions of the Russian Armed Forces units helped maintain the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
Gerasimov pointed out that the Russian Kinjal complexes showed high efficiency and immunity against the air defense systems deployed in Ukraine, as the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed more than 11,000 units of the Ukrainian forces' weapons, and more than 600 Ukrainian drones were destroyed.
