An endowment of more than 25 million euros will be allocated to the Heritage Foundation at the end of the 5th edition of the Loto du Patrimoine, the Ministry of Public Accounts announced in a press release on Thursday.
Each year the State transfers "
all the taxes levied on heritage games for the benefit of the general budget of the State, to the Heritage Foundation to finance the restoration of historical monuments located in mainland France and overseas

This aid will be distributed among the 100 departmental sites selected in 2022 for the fifth edition of the Heritage Loto, launched at the end of August.
Among the 100 sites selected, the blast furnaces of the Ans forge (Dordogne), the Florentin windmill and vine hut (Tarn), the former priory of Saint-Romain-le-Puy (Loire), the Fort de Feyzin (Rhône), the hop dryer in Bèze (Côte-d'Or), the Eiffel footbridge of the Kermezen estate in La Roche-Jaudy (Côtes-d'Armor) or the maritime heritage of Audierne (Finistère ).

In five years, State support for the Heritage Mission has reached more than 125 million euros thanks to the Loto du Patrimoine
,” it is specified.
So far this mode of financing “
has made it possible to restore 215 remarkable heritage sites and 235 other sites are being restored
”.
In total, 745 sites have benefited from the support of the Heritage Mission since 2018.
Created in 1996, the Heritage Foundation's main mission is the protection and enhancement of small local heritage, not protected as historical monuments.
At the end of 2017, it was entrusted with the management of the revenue collected from the Heritage Loto, which must finance the restoration of the sites in danger identified as priorities by the mission carried out by Stéphane Bern.
