Deir Ezzor - SANA
On the occasion of the 71st Tree Festival, the Directorate of Agriculture in Deir Ezzor held a celebration that included the planting of 3,000 trees in the Panorama Roundabout and the vicinity of Al-Maqra, with the participation of civil and popular activities.
The participants in the celebration stressed the importance of preserving the tree and restoring the green cover of the city, and the need for everyone to join efforts to replant trees that were burned and vandalized as a result of terrorism.
The Director of Agriculture in Deir ez-Zor, Eng. Fouad Abdoun, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the panorama site was chosen at the southern entrance of the city and the vicinity of the Deir ez-Zor cemetery at the eastern entrance of the city to celebrate the Tree Festival, after the trees were vandalized and burned by armed terrorist organizations to restore vegetation and surround the city. Deir Ezzor with a green fence that protects the city from dust and dust storms and gives an aesthetic appearance to the city's entrances.
In turn, the Head of the Forestry Department, Eng. Muhammad Al-Omair, stated that the plants that were planted are of the approved forest varieties, such as thuja, cypress, pine, umbrella tree and fan palm, pointing out that the department will water the trees and take care of them during the coming period.
The Governor of Deir Ezzor, Fadel Najjar, and the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Raed Al-Ghadhban, participated in the celebration.
