A court in Abu Dhabi imposed a financial fine of 65,000 dirhams, which is about 58,000 shekels, on the Israeli Nachman Gabai, who insulted police officers at the airport.
This, after the court waived his imprisonment and instead ordered his deportation from the country.
Now (Thursday) a debt collector is waiting for a plane in Dubai, which will take him to Israel, ten days after his entanglement began.
The sentence was handed down at the beginning of the week, but the release was delayed until Gabay's family raised the money.
Due to the entanglement, his plan to travel in India was cut short, and he will return to Israel.
Gabbay's release efforts were accompanied by Israeli consul Danny Gadot, the Chabad emissary and rabbi of the Emirates, Rabbi Levi Duchman, the American Jewish businessman Bruce Gurfein who lives in Dubai and the lawyer Mordechai Tzibin, who specializes in representing Israeli detainees abroad.
He will pay a fine instead of serving prison time.

Tsybin, who was involved in certain procedures related to the release, wanted to thank the parties involved and told Walla: "I thank the law enforcement system in Abu Dhabi for the high level of human rights, for the good attitude, the consideration and the understanding that Nachman was mistakenly involved in a minor and insignificant act."
