An intervention is still in progress to manage this incident.
Total Energy indicates that an internal operation plan has been launched until it is resolved.
Since Wednesday evening, the teams mobilized have already carried out several maneuvers, in particular the
"installation of an insulating mat made up of water and foam in the retention basin to limit the risks associated with gasoline and odors"
as well as the
“emptying of the tank by loading a boat”
and a
“transfer to another tank to limit the duration of the leak”
.
The leak limited to a “residual trickle”
According to the site management, these technical interventions made it possible to
"significantly reduce the leak towards the retention basin"
.
This would now be
“limited to a residual net”
.
At the same time, operations are underway to allow the product contained in the basin to be emptied following the leak.
No specific timetable has been communicated regarding the recovery of the situation.

“every hour and in different areas of the city in order to monitor air quality”
.
It specifies that
“the first results do not indicate any health impact for the population”
.
According to the State services, since the detection of the leak, there has been no report to the emergency services for people inconvenienced or unwell.

"to avoid any olfactory discomfort"
, it is recommended to the inhabitants of the surroundings to
