More and more canceled flights are piling up for Christmas Eve in the United States.
Airlines have canceled more than 1,000 flights scheduled for Friday in the United States, according to the FlightAware tracking site.
At 2:45 p.m. Miami time, on the other hand, the number of cancellations on Thursday was close to 2,000.
The biggest cancellations on Thursday were at the Chicago and Denver airports, according to FlightAware data.
Friday's cancellations are highest in Detroit, followed by New York's LaGuardia as the storm's impacts move east.
More than 5,300 flights were delayed Thursday, according to FlightAware data.
