US airlines have canceled more than 1,900 flights, due to bad weather prevailing in the country.
Reuters quoted FlightAware, a flight tracking website, as saying that airlines canceled 1,239 flights within, to or from the United States for today, while they canceled 699 flights for tomorrow, Friday, with vast areas of the country affected by a severe cold wave ahead of a strong winter storm, which confused Thousands planned travel and vacations.
American Airlines said yesterday that it continues to monitor the winter storm, which is expected to affect airports in the Midwest, Northeast and East Coast within days.
The extreme weather coincides with the start of a travel season that is set to be one of the busiest for holiday travel.
