Nantes: after a collision with another vehicle, a fleeing driver hits a wall

The vehicle involved had four young men on board, aged 18 and 19. Two were seriously injured.

Wednesday morning, the operational center of the Loire-Atlantique departmental fire and rescue service (Codis) indicated that firefighters had intervened during the previous night, around 2 a.m., for a traffic accident.

This took place at the corner of rue des Hauts-Pavés and rue Noire in Nantes.

It was mentioned that a vehicle had hit a wall.

Among the occupants of the car, aged 19 and 18, three were injured, two of them seriously.

They were transported by the emergency services to the Nantes University Hospital.

The last young man on board escaped unscathed.

A hit and run

The accident vehicle, a Renault Kangoo, was allegedly involved in a previous collision which took place on rue de Strasbourg shortly before.

The driver allegedly made a U-turn in the middle of the lane and then hit another car, a Toyota Prius, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

After the collision, the young man at the wheel would not have stopped and would have fled.

The driver of the other car would then have pursued them in order to establish a report.

Shortly after, the fleeing vehicle would have hit a wall.

The departmental directorate of public security (DDSP) of Loire-Atlantique indicates that an ongoing investigation.

Screenings for alcohol and narcotics were carried out on the four young people in the accident car.
