As part of the coalition negotiations, the Likud party and the Otzma Yehudit party agreed on the enactment of a death penalty law for terrorists until the passage of the 2023 budget. The parties have not agreed on what the wording of the law will be, but the intention is that Ben Gvir will promote a law that would give authority in the Civil Penal Code to grant the death penalty to terrorists.
We will emphasize that even if the law is passed, the chance that it will be implemented and indeed the death penalty will be imposed on terrorists is low.
We note that the death penalty for terrorists exists today only in military law.
