In the past three days, the patrols of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Daraa organized 18 catering controls, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Yahya Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the seizures affected the owner of Abu Jaish Bakery in the city of Dael, for a violation of producing poorly made bread, and a gas commissioner in the town of Jabab, for a violation of charging an increase in the wages for replacing the domestic gas cylinder, based on a complaint by a citizen and service drivers. On the “Damascus-Izra’-Mahjah” and “Daraa Al-Muzayrib” lines, in violation of an increase in passenger fares.
He added: “The Consumer Protection Patrols organized seven catering seizures for various ongoing activities, “food, electrical and juice” in the town of Kafr Shams and the neighborhoods of Al-Sabil, Al-Kashif and Hateen in the city, in violation of the lack of a commercial register, in addition to three seizures against the owners of electrical, clothing and sanitary materials stores in the Al-Kashef and Al-Sabil neighborhoods. In Daraa, and the city of Inkhil for violating the presentation of irregular purchase invoices, and an arrest was made against the owner of a clothing store in the North Al-Khatt neighborhood in the city for a violation of not placing a plate showing the consumer’s right to exchange and return.
Dr. Abdullah explained that the seizures affected the two owners of the Conserva plant in the cities of Al-Sanamayn and Tafas, for violating the production of tomato pulp in violation of the specifications and a specification card in the form of a removable sticker, and the owner of Anwar Al-Ibrahim gas station in the town of Khirbet Ghazala, for a violation of refusing to perform a service.
The consumer protection patrols withdrew from the market two samples of food and non-food items to show their conformity with the Syrian standard specifications and the effective supply decisions.
