Rear-end collision on B2: Turning maneuver recognized too late

A rear-end collision occurred on Wednesday evening, December 21, at around 7:15 p.m. on federal highway 2 near Mittenwald, just before the state border.
The result: a minor injury and considerable damage to property.
According to the police, a 46-year-old from Poland, who was driving a small truck towards Mittenwald, wanted to turn left into a parking lot and reduced his speed.
Another 46-year-old car driver from Italy who was driving behind the truck recognized this too late, was unable to brake in time and drove into it.
He sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by paramedics for further examination.
The truck driver was not injured.
Property damage of around 21,000 euros was caused to both vehicles.
In addition to the rescue service, 25 men with vehicles from the Mittenwald fire brigade were also on site.
