Serious accidents in Bavaria: cars crash into each other on the A73 – mother and baby among the injured

Two accidents involving several vehicles and many injuries occurred in northern Bavaria on Thursday.

An accident occurred on the Autobahn towards Nuremberg, several people were injured.
Almost at the same time, there was a crash in the oncoming lane.
Hirschaid – Two serious accidents occurred on Thursday afternoon, December 22, in northern Bavaria.
Several vehicles collided on the A73 towards Nuremberg, between the Hirschaid and Buttenheim junctions.
While the clean-up work was still going on, another accident occurred on the opposite lane, again with several vehicles and injuries.
Serious accidents in Bavaria: Many injured - including mother and baby
In the first accident, four vehicles collided with each other.
The right lane was closed due to a construction site.
Therefore, the driver of a red Opel wanted to change to the left lane, where he then collided with the Skoda of a 36-year-old woman, who also had her baby in the vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the red Opel then drove into a small red car driving in front of it, which then also crashed into a white Mercedes.
A total of four people were injured, including the Opel driver, who was seriously injured, and the mother and her baby, who suffered minor injuries.

Shortly after the first accident: another collision on the opposite lane
While the clean-up work on the A73 towards Nuremberg was still going on because of the first accident, another collision occurred on the opposite lane towards Bamberg.
According to initial information from the scene of the accident, a Mercedes driver braked sharply, which resulted in a collision with a truck and an Audi.
The truck crashed into the rear of the Audi.
Four people were in the vehicle, and a woman had to be freed from the wreck by rescue workers.
A total of seven people were injured in the second accident.
The clean-up and rescue measures for the accidents are ongoing.
A rescue helicopter, six ambulances and three other emergency doctors were on site.
The A73 is currently still fully closed in both directions.
