After last night's historic visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington, criticism began following his choice of attire for the unusual event.
Among his critics: the son of former US President Donald Trump and journalists associated with the "alt-right", the alternative right.
"This ungrateful piece of shit has no dignity to wear a suit in the White House, no respect for the country that funds his survival," wrote Benny Johnson, host of the conservative news network.
This ungrateful piece of sh*t does not have the decency to wear a suit to the White House -- no respect for the country that is funding his survival.
Track suit wearing eastern european con-man mafia.
Our leaders fell for it.
They have disgraced us all.
What an incredible insult.

"For $45 billion in aid, show some respect and at least wear a suit," the Breitbart reporter tweeted.
Zelensky arrives at the White House to demand more support than the $45B aid in the omnibus bill.
For $45B, show some respect and rent a suit.

Others actually chose to focus on the alliance between Kyiv and Washington, the main sponsor of the country in the war.
"Zelensky is actually a welfare queen", that's how Donald Trump Jr. called the president of Ukraine in his criticism of the financial aid provided by the American government and the demand from Kyiv for additional packages.
Zelensky is basically an ungrateful international welfare queen.

Along the same lines, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor wrote, "Of course the shadow president (Zelensky) must come to Congress and explain why he needs billions from the American taxpayer for the 51st state of the United States, Ukraine.
It's absurd."
Of course the shadow president has to come to Congress and explain why he needs billions of American's taxpayer dollars for the 51st state, Ukraine.
This is absurd.
Put America First!!!

As I recall, Zelensky arrived in the United States last night on his first visit outside the country's borders since the beginning of the war last February 24. As mentioned, the Ukrainian president met with Biden at the White House and also gave an important speech in front of members of Congress, which received applause and symbolized the quality of relations between Washington and Kiev.
"The people of Ukraine thank your people, the Americans. The war is not over yet," Zelensky told Biden.
