Truck on Xintian Highway was knocked over and sideways crushed private car passengers, trapped drunk driver, escaped and arrested

A traffic accident occurred on San Tin Highway in North New Territories.

At around 3:00 a.m., it was reported that a truck and a private car were traveling along San Tin Highway towards Sheung Shui. On the way to the opposite side of Fairview Garden, the two vehicles collided. The truck suddenly lost control and overturned, hitting the private car car.

One of the female passengers was still conscious and covered in blood when she was rescued; the truck driver was also injured and was treated by ambulancemen while sitting on the road.

The truck involved was carrying chilled chickens at the time, and the chickens were scattered on the ground after the accident.

It is understood that the Lexus private car involved in the incident was suspected to be out of control at the time of the accident. It hit the rear of the truck from the rear.

The driver of the truck was bleeding from head and face injuries, and the worker following the truck was slightly injured. The female passenger of the private car was trapped and seriously injured. Fortunately, she was still conscious and moaned in pain. The male driver of the private car was not injured.

According to the news at the scene, someone stepped out of the private car intending to leave the scene on foot after the car accident. When a passing driver saw this, he immediately drove forward and surrounded him until the rescuers arrived.

The police officers escorted the male driver of the private car into the police car and detained him for inspection. He conducted an alcohol breath test and initially recorded a reading as high as 90 degrees. He was arrested on suspicion of "drunk driving".
