Isar-Loisachbote/Geretsrieder Merkur and Tölzer Kurier support people in need with the “Readers help help” fundraising campaign.
For example, a woman from the county who has to turn over every penny twice.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – As soon as the money is in the account, it's gone again, eaten up by the overdraft facility.
"Actually, I'm always in the red," says Jasira L. (name changed by the editors) quietly while sitting at the kitchen table.
In 2018 her husband died of an insidious type of cancer.
Since then, the 46-year-old has had to see how she and her five children make ends meet.
"I have to turn over every dime twice."

The African came to Upper Bavaria in 2000 as an au pair.
"My parents got into debt to enable me to stay in Germany," says Jasira L. She wanted to stay with a family in Rosenheim.
But that didn't work at all, and the young woman took to her heels.
At the train station in Munich she spoke to a Wolfratshauser.
After she explained her plight to him, he offered her a place to sleep.
Although the African woman was very afraid, she went with him.
"He was a reasonable person and I stayed with him for a few days." Jasira L. then found refuge with a family in the region, who took her in well.
"I stayed there for a year."
Contact with her rescuer from Wolfratshausen did not break off.
On the contrary: the acquaintance became love, and in 2001 the two married.
After a few years, the first child announced, four more followed.
The husband provided the income and Jasira L. took care of the offspring.
“We were happy,” she looks back.
Then the family man fell seriously ill.
The devastating diagnosis: pancreatic cancer.
At the age of 58, the Wolfratshauser lost the fight against cancer.
"The strong drugs make me very weak"
This stroke of fate struck the family four years ago.
In addition, Jasira L. had serious health problems. An operated knee and her back caused her a lot of pain.
She finds it difficult to walk.
She can only leave the apartment on the first floor with crutches.
"The strong drugs make me very weak," says the widow.
"I don't recognize myself." She would like to go to work.
"But I'm not physically able to do that.
It's depressing.” Taking care of five children in this state is a challenge, the mother admits.

Their homeland, thousands of kilometers away, is on the sea.
"There's a saying that if you're hungry, you have to go fishing," says the African.
That's how she was raised: to help herself.
But the 46-year-old can no longer do that.
She concedes with tears.
How nice it would be to be able to buy the kids some Christmas presents.
Replacing the worn-out sofa with a new one.
And to replace the decrepit computer with a new one.
Things that Jasira L. can't do with the best will in the world.
Especially not after the letter from her landlord.
The rent will be increased on January 1 of next year.
