At least three people were killed and four others injured after a gunman opened fire in the 10th arrondissement of central Paris on Friday, the town's mayor, Alexandra Cordebard, said.
"After the dramatic shooting that took place this morning, I have returned to Paris and will go to the scene. All my thoughts are with the families of the victims. The perpetrator of the shooting has been arrested," said the French minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, in a tweet.
The shooting has not been classified as a terrorist incident, although all avenues are being investigated.
