The spokesman pointed out that additional personnel will be deployed to patrol the relevant locations and appeal to those present to abide by the regulations on the prohibition of group gatherings in public places larger than the number specified by law and the wearing of masks. If violations are found, enforcement actions will be taken.
The department will also cooperate with the law enforcement teams of relevant departments to step up patrols in the venues around Tsim Sha Tsui, and take law enforcement actions against littering, illegal hawking and intentional disruption of public order. Violators may be prosecuted.
During the festive period, the public address system of the Hong Kong Cultural Center will regularly broadcast messages about crowd management, restricting group gatherings and wearing masks, and appealing to citizens not to litter, the spokesman said.
