The Center for Health Protection found 10 more local cases carrying mutated virus strains yesterday, namely 3 cases of XBB and 3 cases of BQ.1.1 substrain.


The Macau Novel Coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Center announced that starting from 00:00 today (23rd), the epidemic prevention measures for people entering the Macau Special Administrative Region from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan Region and foreign countries will be adjusted. If it is set as a "red code", nucleic acid testing is not required on the third day from the day following entry.



The Macau health code of the inbound travelers will be set as "yellow code", and they must accept "self-health management", and for 5 consecutive days starting from the day after the entry, they will take a new coronavirus rapid antigen test every day and upload the results to the Macau health code.

After uploading the negative results of the rapid antigen test on the 5th day, the Macau Health Code was converted to a "green code".

During the period of holding a yellow code, although it is specified that dinner or gatherings are not allowed, the Macau government has not stipulated that casinos or restaurants cannot allow people with a "yellow code" to enter.


Summary of yesterday's epidemic:


- 19,705 confirmed cases, an increase of 16.2% compared to yesterday's cases.


- There were 954 imported cases, accounting for 4.84% of the overall case rate; compared with 17,747 airport arrivals on the same day, the confirmed rate was 5.38%, and the seven-day average rate was 4.66%.


- 34 new patients died, the 7-day average mortality rate rose slightly to 0.222%, the overall mortality rate remained at 0.47%, and the cumulative death toll was 11,327.


- Local XBB cases increased by 3, BQ.1.1 increased by 7 cases.
