The new crown pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong has rebounded. Yesterday (22nd) there were 19,705 new confirmed cases, an increase of more than 16% from the previous day (21st). It is the first time since March that it has approached the level of 20,000 cases.
Among them, there were 954 imported cases, close to the level of 1,000 cases again. As for yesterday’s airport arrivals, there were 17,747 people, and the confirmed rate was only 5.38%. There were 34 new deaths, and the 7-day average death rate rose slightly to 0.222%. 11,327 people.
The Center for Health Protection found 10 more local cases carrying mutated virus strains yesterday, namely 3 cases of XBB and 3 cases of BQ.1.1 substrain.
The Macau Novel Coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Center announced that starting from 00:00 today (23rd), the epidemic prevention measures for people entering the Macau Special Administrative Region from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan Region and foreign countries will be adjusted. If it is set as a "red code", nucleic acid testing is not required on the third day from the day following entry.
The Macau health code of the inbound travelers will be set as "yellow code", and they must accept "self-health management", and for 5 consecutive days starting from the day after the entry, they will take a new coronavirus rapid antigen test every day and upload the results to the Macau health code.
After uploading the negative results of the rapid antigen test on the 5th day, the Macau Health Code was converted to a "green code".
During the period of holding a yellow code, although it is specified that dinner or gatherings are not allowed, the Macau government has not stipulated that casinos or restaurants cannot allow people with a "yellow code" to enter.
