Some foxes don't just steal geese - they also steal surveillance cameras.
That's what happened a few days before Christmas Eve in Leutstetten.
Leutstetten – The police report from Chief Inspector Oliver Jauch on Friday begins like this: “A surveillance camera in the garden – not necessarily unusual in itself if it were not located on someone else’s property in the middle of the fruit trees.” A resident of Leutstetten also thought so on Thursday , who found the camera in his garden and brought it to the police station in Starnberg.
“At first it was inexplicable where the camera came from.
It was unlikely that she could have detached herself from a drone that had flown over the property due to her size and design," writes Jauch.
It was obviously a webcam that can be connected to a network to monitor one's own property.
A police officer investigated, looked through the stored videos and recognized the entrance area of the house to which the camera was attached - until it fell down on the grass and was carried away by a fox.
Another video on the memory card provided evidence of this, as the photo shows.
"At some point he realized that the housing is not really edible and left the camera a few properties away carelessly," writes Chief Inspector Jauch about the fox.
He will have gone elsewhere in search of food.
