An 80-year-old man and his 57-year-old daughter-in-law were found dead on Sunday December 18 in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (Hérault) at the home of the octogenarian.
According to information reported by France Bleu Hérault and confirmed by the Montpellier prosecutor's office in

, it was gendarmes from the town's brigade who made this macabre discovery, the family being worried about not receiving any news from the two. Flatmates.
Arrived on the scene, the gendarmes did not take long to find the accused: a man was indeed present at the home of the octogenarian.
He is a 38-year-old homeless man of Spanish nationality.
Still according to the prosecution, he arrived from Italy and got off at Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone station, near the home of the two victims.
Findings on the spot suggest that the man would have tried to break into the octogenarian's home in order to commit theft.
An autopsy was performed on the bodies of the two victims.
According to his conclusions, the causes of their death are of criminal origin, the bodies showing traces of beatings.
Placed in pre-trial detention, the man admitted the facts.
He would not have brought any explanation of a rational order to explain his passage to the act.
The prosecution specifies that it will be the subject of an evaluation by psychiatric experts, while a judicial investigation has been opened.
