Climate activist and Jesuit Father Jörg Alt reported himself to the police after taking part in "Last Generation" demonstrations.

Munich/Nuremberg – The Nuremberg Jesuit Father Jörg Alt reported himself to the police.

The reason is the "support of an alleged criminal organization" and the recruitment of members for it, said Alt.

The step is a sign of solidarity with the climate protection group "Last Generation".

The Father has often taken part in campaigns by the climate stickers, such as at the Stachus at the end of October.

Climate activist and Jesuit Father Alt "consciously breaks laws" - there is currently no alternative to deeds

Alt explained: “I do break the law on purpose.

It's illegal and I'm a criminal." But these acts are currently without alternative for him.

This is because “people should be warned of damage and the survival of mankind should be secured”.

In view of "the current heated debate" on climate protection "we want to give our actions to the police and public prosecutor for review".

At the beginning of December, the conference of interior ministers of the federal states determined that it had to be clarified whether the "last generation" was a criminal organization.

Alt had already made himself known about containers in 2021 after taking edible food from supermarket garbage.

The preliminary investigation into particularly serious theft was discontinued due to a lack of evidence and public interest in the prosecution.

Klima-Kleber again in Munich: ten activists at the Leuchtenbergring

Also on Wednesday, climate activists stuck to the street - this time on the corner of Ampfingstrasse and Berg-am-Laim-Strasse on the Leuchtenbergring.

A total of ten activists were there around 8:30 a.m.

Seven of them glued themselves to the street, two glued themselves to each other and sat down on the street with a tenth person.

By 10:00 a.m., all had been resolved and the operation was over.

Yesterday, the activists in Berlin managed without glue.

There they sawed off the top of the Christmas tree at the Brandenburg Gate.
