The municipal company KUMS is planning an expansion on the Erlberg.

Appropriate applications have been submitted to the City Council.

– The municipal company Markt Schwaben (KUMS) intends to expand the heating center on the property at Am Erlberg 6 next to the municipal recycling center.

KUMS board member Bernhard Wagner wrote to the municipality at the beginning of November.

Now the whole thing was a public topic in the market town council.

Tenor there: The plenum supports the expansion plans in principle.

Knowing that this contradicts stipulations in the existing development plan because, among other things, building limits are not observed.

Therefore, the plenum also approved the corresponding changes to the development plan, which now have to be worked out in detail.

Among other things, the construction space is redefined and the course of construction boundaries is shifted accordingly.

The municipal company is responsible for commissioning an urban planning office and the specialist engineering offices for the preparation of the necessary reports.

This assignment must also be carried out in coordination with the market administration (construction and environment department).

The KUMS has to bear the costs for the plan manufacturer as well as for the preparation of the necessary expert opinions.

Construction limits cannot be adhered to

The letter from the KUMS in November also stated that the current expansion plans are of such a magnitude that it is not possible to grant exemptions from the applicable provisions, i.e. in an uncomplicated and unbureaucratic way.

For the implementation of the currently planned project, an increase in the construction space is therefore necessary.

The aim is therefore to claim part of a neighboring property.

This is the green area next to the exit of the recycling center.

In addition, a larger permissible amount is required for the implementation, the council said on Thursday.

The desired height development is based on the hose tower of the fire brigade on the opposite side of the street.

In the course of a development plan procedure carried out in 2017, the investigation of the noise situation and the preparation of a noise protection report were required, among other things.

In the course of the current meeting, the administration was not able to assess whether a new investigation of the noise situation is necessary as part of a new re-planning of the property.

In a public meeting on December 8th, the Main and Building Committee dealt with the initiation of a procedure to change the development plan.

In the course of the consultation, he had identified a need for an increase in the area for collecting containers for recyclables in addition to the project of the municipal company.
