A cable fire in an apartment building triggered a large-scale operation by the fire brigade in Grafing.
The smoke detector probably saved lives.
Grafing
- In the early morning hours of December 23, there was a major fire brigade operation in the town of Grafing.
At around 3.20 a.m., the fire brigades from Ebersberg, Grafing and Nettelkofen and the Ebersberg police station were alerted because smoke seemed to be coming out of several windows in an apartment building in Grafing.
That is what the police said.
Fire can be extinguished quickly and safely
The rescue workers who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards were able to localize the fire in one of the apartments.
This could be safely deleted after a short time.
The fire brigade named a cable fire as the cause of the fire.
This was triggered by a triple socket into which a second triple socket was plugged.
The cable ignited, setting fire to a nearby upholstered chair.
Property damage is estimated at 15,000 euros
The completely smoky apartment was ventilated after the fire had been extinguished.
The material damage caused is estimated at 15,000 euros.
The resident of the apartment who was present at the time of the fire suffered from mild smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital for further medical treatment.
According to the police, there was never any danger to the other residents of the apartment building.
About 50 firefighters were on site.
