With artistic musical performances and expressive dances for children and adults inspired by the occasion of the Orthodox Sunday Schools, accompanied by sports activities and the Joy Train, the Christmas Carnival toured a number of streets in the city of Tartous to celebrate Christmas, bringing with it the atmosphere of joy and happiness.

The Tartous Carnival started from Mard Daniel Greek Orthodox Church at the site of the old garage to the Church of the Archdiocese of Tartous and continued its march through the well-known Al-Thawra Street in the heart of the city, all the way to the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady on the Marine Corniche.

Archimandrite Alexi Nassour, deputy pastor of the diocese of Akkar and its dependencies for the Greek Orthodox in Tartous, said in his speech that the people of Tartous went out today with this carnival, carrying with them messages of joy, love and hope with the birth of Christ, peace be upon him, from Syria to the whole world.

In his turn, the governor of Tartous, Abdul Halim Awad Khalil, considered in a press statement that this scene today confirms Syria's message, which is a message of peace, security and brotherhood, and that Syria is the cradle of civilizations and peace.

In his speech, the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch, Muhammad Hussein, pointed out that Syria's message to the world is a message of life and steadfastness for the Syrian people, who despite the difficulties and crises they have gone through, still live in an atmosphere of joy and spread it everywhere with hope for a new year full of peace and security.
