sueddeutsche.de that the failure was caused by a weather-related fault on a high-voltage line between Föhring and Moosburg.
According to a police spokesman, around 20 to 40 officers were also on duty during the afternoon and early evening to regulate traffic.

According to a police spokesman, the traffic lights went out around 3:30 p.m. and will be back from around 7 p.m.
In addition, the police spokesman said in the evening that there were only about 50 traffic lights that had failed - not more than 200, as had been reported in the meantime.
He was also somewhat vague about the cause: "There seems to have been some technical defect."
