The United States is once again putting its hand in the wallet.
The United States Congress adopted this Friday a vast budget bill for federal services, totaling 1,700 billion dollars, 45 of which are intended to help Ukraine, by a last vote of the House of Representatives, two days after a visit by Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington.
The law avoids the paralysis of the American federal administration (the famous “shutdown”), which could have intervened on Friday evening if no text had been approved by Congress before.
This vote comes two days after a lightning visit by the Ukrainian president to Washington, during which Volodymyr Zelensky was promised by Joe Biden a new tranche of aid, including the famous Patriot air defense system.

"Today's tranche of aid includes for the first time the Patriot air defense system, capable of shooting down cruise missiles, short-range ballistic missiles and aircraft at significantly higher altitudes than systems of defense that had been provided so far," said Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
“Your money is not charity, it is an investment in global security and democracy, which we manage in the most responsible way,” Volodymyr Zelensky assured the US Congress.
The United States, by far the largest donor to Ukraine, has so far provided, according to expert estimates, nearly $50 billion in aid to the war-torn country, including $20 billion in arms and military assistance. .
