Hohenzell – Luisa (9), almost a Christ child from birth, surprised her parents with news this year: she is playing the Christ child at the Altomünster Christmas market.

We grabbed the Christ Child and talked to him about Christmas.

In an interview, Luisa reveals why it is important to believe in Christmas miracles, where Santa Claus gets his presents and what Christmas tips she has for all readers.

Luisa, you're not the real Christkind, are you?

No, I'm not the real one.

So you were more of a helper for the Christ child?

I agree.

I just wanted to try what it's like.

A few small children also thought that I was the real Christ Child.

Of course I didn't reveal anything.

And how is it, the real Christkind?

So I imagine it's really nice.

And it has a golden cape, a long white dress and a crown - just like I wore.

Do you think we can all carry a little bit of Christkindness within us?

I think that's how it is.

Like when we do something nice for someone.

Can you think of a small example of how you can easily do something good for others?

If children from Ukraine come to our school and don't understand the language, we can still help them.

Have you helped others lately?

Baking cookies for grandma, or if she needs milk, I'll fetch it for her from the basement.

This is how we can also help the Christ child: if we simply give people a helping hand.

Do you believe in Christmas miracles?

Yes I believe that!

Once I got something from Santa that I didn't want at all, and then I really enjoyed it.

The Santa Claus knows you well.

And how.

What do you say to people who don't believe in Christmas miracles?

I think if you don't believe in Christmas miracles, keep that to yourself.

Or at least don't say it out loud.

So that you don't destroy it for the others who believe in it.

Because if I can choose whether I believe in something beautiful or not, then I'd rather believe in it.

The main task of the Christ Child is to make people happy.

How can we help him with that?

Yes, if we give each other joy, then we are helping him!

How do you know at Christmas that the Christ Child was there?

I can hear its bells.

And when the door opens, everything is completely enchanted.

What is the most important thing about Christmas for you?

Being with family and being happy with what you have.

Because some people lose everything in war.

And now, to be honest: the gifts are important too, aren't they?

Yes, definitely very important (laughs).

Where do you think Santa Claus gets his presents from?

I believe this has a warehouse.

And always, as soon as Christmas is over, it fills that up again.

Then there will be no stress at Christmas.

And how does the Christ Child manage to be everywhere at the same time?

Well, not everyone around the world believes in the Christ Child.

Santa Claus, for example, comes somewhere else.

So the Christkind doesn't have to be everywhere at the same time.

What should never be missing at Christmas?

It's always important to be with the family, to have a lot of fun and to play a lot.

As a Christkindl helper, do you have a Christmas tip for our readers?

That you don't spend Christmas alone, but what you do with your loved ones.

And most of all, don't fight at Christmas.
