Members of the Anti-Triad Action Group of the New Territories South Region carried out an operation code-named "LEVINGTON" (LEVINGTON) at about 11:30 pm yesterday (December 24) to raid an industrial building on Castle Peak Road, Kwai Chung Unit, busted a suspected unlicensed bar.
During the operation, officers arrested a 20-year-old man surnamed Wu who was suspected of "selling alcoholic beverages without a license" and "possessing alcoholic beverages without a license for sale."
In addition, two boys, five girls and five men in the premises, aged between 13 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of "drinking alcohol in an unlicensed place".
All arrested men and women are now being detained for investigation.
During the operation, officers seized a total of 45 cans of beer, 18 bottles of spirits and 2 bottles of red wine.

The police reiterated that according to Section 17(3B) of the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, Chapter 109 of the Laws of Hong Kong and Section 25A of the Dutiable Commodities (Liquor) Regulations, Chapter 109B of the Laws of Hong Kong, the person in charge of the premises must have a valid liquor license. Only then can you sell and provide any alcoholic beverages for customers to drink on the premises, otherwise you can be arrested by the police. Once convicted, you can be fined up to 1 million yuan and imprisoned for two years.
In addition, according to the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, Chapter 109 of the Laws of Hong Kong and Section 32 of the Dutiable Commodities (Liquor) Regulations, Chapter 109B, drinking alcoholic beverages in places without a valid liquor license can be fined up to 2,000 Yuan.
