Christmas strike at the SNCF: 100 children boarded a "special TGV" to join their families

The train left this Saturday morning from Lille and has just arrived in Perpignan. About 900 people also took advantage of the remaining places, directly put back on sale by the SNCF.


While 200,000 French people saw their train canceled because of the SNCF drivers' strike, 100 children were able to board a "

special train

" to join their families.

Of these 100 children, 75 boarded at Lille station and 25 joined them at Lyon station in Paris.

They traveled with the SNCF Junior and company service, accompanied by activity leaders.

Initially, there were to be 450 in this train requisitioned for the occasion but “

only 100 children accepted

”, mentions Alain Krakovitch.

The four unions representing SNCF employees signed an agreement on Friday aimed at improving the working conditions of captains and lifted their strike notice.
